SHELTER WATCH: The No Homeless Shelter Party

State Senate candidate Slawomir Platta is on his way to having a ballot line in the November election called the “No Homeless Shelter Party.”

Political newcomer Platta, who is running in the Republican primary on September 12 for a chance to take on longtime Democrat Joseph Addabbo, is take the opposition to the mayor’s plan to use facilities in Glendale and Ozone Park as shelter to another level.

Slawek Platta, Republican and Reform Party candidate for New York’s 15th State Senate District announced today that he has filed close to 4,000 signatures just before yesterday’s midnight deadline to put the No Homeless Shelter Party on the ballot for the November 2018 Elections.

Platta, a staunch opponent of proposed large-scale homeless shelters in residential neighborhoods of Ozone Park, Glendale and Middle Village / Maspeth, said that the shelters are one of the top issues on voter minds.
